Mutt Activites

The daily activities in the Pushpagiri Sankara Peetham majorly involve Sri Chandramouleeswara Abhishekam In the morning and Sri Chakra Pooja in the evening.

Here, the main deity Sri Chandramouleeswara Swami is worshipped in the form of Spathika Lingam. This Sphatika Lingam is one of the four Shiv Lings brought by Adi Sankaracharya from Himalayas to different Sankara Peethas.

Spathika Lingam in Pushpagiri Sankara Peetham is said to be the biggest of all other Shiv Lings being worshipped in other Sankara Peethams.

Rudra Abhishekam is performed to the Chandramouleeswara Spathika Lingam every day in the morning at Pushpagiri Peetham. One can witness this sacred process everyday in the morning between 10 AM-12 PM. After pooja and Naivedyam, follows uttering of Mantra Pushpam by priests infront of Sri Swamiji, and Sri Swamiji himself will give the Abhishekam Milk as Teertham to all those present at that time.

After distribution of Teertham, Sri Swami’s darshan can be done and then follows the Annadaanam open to everyone. There ends the morning session.

Additionally, the Abhisheka Jalam (Water) is also kept at a place, which can be taken by all devotees upon request. It is strongly believed and proven in many cases that consuming this Abhisheka Jalam daily heals any sort of ill health conditions and also works an effective saviour for any problems.

Later in the evening, Shri Chakra Pooja is performed, where another main diety Sri Sarada Devi is worshipped in the form of Sri Chakra through Kumkumaarchana. After Shri Chakra Pooja, Mantra Pushpam is uttered by the priests and then Archana Kumkum is given to all devotees present there.

Peetham also hosts the divine idols of Sri Lakshmi Nrusimha Swami and Goddess Sri Aadi Lakshmi Kameshwari. Pooja and Naivaedyam are offered these two dieities also every morning and evening. Special Abhishekam is performed to Sri Lakshmi Nrusimha Swamy on every Wednesday evening and to Sri Adi Lakshmi Kameshwari Devi on every Friday evening.

Apart from these regular activities, various other activities like Homams, Kalyanotsavams, Abhishekams, Archana, etc are performed to different dieities occasionally on different auspicious events and days.
